Paula Rogalski
Paula was raised in a household that encouraged creativity. Her mother was a tole painter whose works were displayed throughout their home. She instilled a love of painting by teaching Paula how to paint with oil. Paula’s drawing and painting skills developed through her mother’s influence and various talented art teachers during her education. In college, she took many art classes, but it wasn’t until her family moved to Rutherford County in 2004 did she pursue her love of art.
Paula began taking pottery classes at Isothermal Community College in their Continuing Education program. Through the expertise of Kiowa Cilone and John King she learned to work with clay, and it became her new-found passion. Clay became her new canvas. Paula enjoys carving her pieces inspired by nature then glazing them in a painterly fashion. As time went on, she and her husband combined their two mediums, wood and clay, to create lamps. They work as a team in their studio on Whitesides Road.
