Some classes listed on this page are offered on a regular bases. Some are monthly, some are weekly.

Some are special one-time classes.

Beginning Drawing

6-Week Class Fridays July 5 - August 9

10am - 12pm

Ages 10 to Adult

Cost: $60.00 for members, $65.00 for nonmembers

There is an additional $30.00 supply fee paid to the instructor at the first class.

Class minimum 2, maximum 8.

Over the course of 6 weeks, participants will work on improving observation skills and learn techniques to improve drawing skills. This includes the use of flash warm-ups, identifying shapes within a complex object, and learning about ways to create visual depth. In a drawing, the participants will have the opportunity to use a variety of drawing materials including charcoal, drawing pencils, pens and pastels.

Bob Ross Painting Class

The second Saturday of the month.

Next Class - Saturday, July 20  from 9am-12pm

$20.00 members/$25.00 non-members

Register by July 17.

This class is designed for beginner to experienced. Pat will take you through the Bob Ross style of painting step-by-step to create a beautiful painting. The goal of the class is to have a finished painting by the end of the class. Each month offers a new painting experience. Pat Hitchcock is a certified Bob Ross instructor.

Class minimum 2, maximum 8.

While watercolor paint sets often include the color white, it is not really needed. The white paper allows white tinted colors to be made from the other paint colors. When white is needed for a touch-up such as the reflected light in an eye, the white watercolor paint isn't up to the job of covering up other colors. Learn some different ways to let the light come through.-

Zentangle With Color

Class minimum 2, maximum 8.

Creating depth in paintings draws in the viewer's eye. What we see and what we want the viewer to see are not always the same thing. This class explores the different elements of visual perspective and applies them to a landscape painting of the student's choice.

Drawing Class for Adults

Thursdays August 15 - September 19

9am - 12pm

This is a beginning and intermediate-level drawing class for adults. Students will work with a variety of drawing materials such as charcoal, ink and colored pencils. Students will have practice exercises, as well as, drawing from still life setups, going outside to draw plein aire and drawing people and faces. Classes will cover breaking down complex forms, drawing visual and linear perspective, use of line and shadow, color theory, drawing from nature and the use of a variety of drawing materials including mixed media. Students will complete and mat at least one drawing by the end of the session.

Beginner to intermediate weekly watercolor class. Join at anytime. Come enjoy learning various watercolor techniques as Larry will work through different paintings during the month.

 

You can purchase one or more classes at a time. Just increase quantity by the number of classes you would like to pay for.

This weekly group gathers in the back of the Visual Art Center to work on their needle craft together.

 

All needle/yarn crafts are welcome from knitting to needle point.
