· September 26, 2024 - Check in with art for show 10:00 am-3:00 pm
· September 27, 2024: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm
· September 28 – September 29, 2024: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
· September 30,2024 – Artist pick up 10:00 am-2:00 pm

Eligibility: Open to all artists (Not restricted to Guild members or Rutherford County residents.)
​
Requirements: Entries must be ORIGINAL works of the artist and completed within the last two years. Artwork cannot have been previously displayed in previous Guild juried art shows. Items made from kits, commercial molds, patterns, or instructor-assisted works are not allowed. Digitally manipulated photos beyond basic editing must be marked as such. All applications must include photos of the artwork being entered in the show. Digital photos should be emailed to rcvartg@gmail.com. Include artist name and “Celebrate Art” on application” in the subject line.

Maximum Number of Art Pieces: Each artist may enter a total of four pieces. Artwork may be 2D or 3D or a combination and must be indicated on the application. Artists entering 2D art exceeding 36” x 48” must supply their own easel or stand and must make a notation on the application.
​
Display Requirements: Framed artwork must be wired with D-rings. Saw tooth hangers, clip frames or screw eyes will not be accepted. Canvases without a frame must be gallery wrapped. Add size to 2D art on the application. Artwork deemed inappropriate for this venue by the Art Show Chair or committee will NOT be displayed.

Artists Reception: 6:00-9:00 PM on Friday, September 27, 2024 for participating artists and guests plus donors, sponsors, and Guild members.

Awards (Presented at Artists Reception)
Best in Show - $200
1st Place - $150 (2D and 3D categories)
2nd Place - $100 (2D and 3D categories)
3rd Place - $75 (2D and 3D categories)
Merit Awards - $25 each (categories as awarded by Judge)

Sales: Art for sale must have price listed. Art that is sold during the show must remain for the entire show. Buyer may pick up purchases 10:00 am – 2:00 pm on Monday, September 30, 2024. Works that are not for sale should be listed as NFS.
Commission: The Guild will retain a 30% commission on sales.
​
Liability: The Guild does not carry insurance and assumes no liability for damage or loss. Artists must insure their own work. The delivery of an entry constitutes an agreement by the artist to this policy.
​
Marketing: The Guild reserves the right to use photographs of the show artwork and/or artists to promote the Celebrate Art.
Drop-off: Thursday, September 26, 2024 10:00 am – 3:00 pm at The Foundation for the Performing Arts at Isothermal Community College, Spindale, NC.

LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Pick up: September 30, 2024 – Artist pick up 10:00 am-2:00 pm. If you cannot pick up your work at this time, arrange for someone else to do so. THERE WILL BE A $25 FEE CHARGED FOR WORK LEFT AFTER PICK UP TIME.
Participation: To help make the show a success, participation is needed from entrants. Information will be sent with acceptance letter.

Judge for Celebrate Art 2024 Chrys Riviere-Blalock
Painter Chrys Riviere-Blalock has taught college studio and art history classes for over 25 years. She has served as an exhibition juror and visiting artist and led undergraduate art travel/study programs in France. She is a 2011 and 2014 recipient of the NC Regional Artist Project Grant from Charlotte Mecklenburg Arts and Science Council.
​
Her work was selected for a solo exhibit on view 24/7 at the Hearst Tower Plaza during the 2012 Democratic National Convention, and has been shown in NY at Artists Space and the Prince Street Gallery, in MS at the Lauren Rodgers Museum of Art, in NC at the Green Hill Center, The Bascom, the Hickory Museum of Art, and by the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission. Artist residencies include Mountain Gateway Museum and the Hambridge Center for the Creative Arts and Sciences, where she is a 2014 Hambridge Fellow. In 2020 she was invited by the US State Department to exhibit work at the US Embassy in Riga, Latvia as part of their Art in Embassies program. Visit her website at chrysriviereblalock.com.
